Hey You, Scientist! Welcome

My name is Ephrem Abebe. I am a University professor, pharmacist, healthcare improver, educator, scientist, and a mentor. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the resources at Ethiopian Scientist.

I am the founder and editor of this website (ethiopianscientist.org). I created Ethiopian Scientist with the goal of serving as a platform to promote conversations about science and research in Ethiopia; to bring scholars together, share best practices and ideas to have a successful and fulfilling experience as a scientist and researcher. Some of the major focus areas include, but are not limited to, graduate education, academic writing and publishing, grant skill development, research mentorship, academic and industry research collaboration, and equity in the research and science workforce.

Ideas expressed on this website and associated social media channels are only mine and/or that of collaborators/contributors and do not reflect the views of my employer and that of collaborators/contributors.

How Can You Get Involved?

We welcome collaborations and partnerships with individual scholars and institutions engaged in research and graduate education, in and outside of Ethiopia. In the very near future, we have plans to launch programming specifically designed to support junior academic staff and graduate students in Ethiopian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Related to this, we would like to feature Ethiopian scientists and researchers and increase visibility of their work on the global space. We will also work to promote women taking greater roles in science and research in Ethiopia.

If you would like to work with us on any of these issues, please do get in touch. We are available on all of the major social media channels (@EthScientist on Facebook and @EthioScientist on Twitter, Instagram, Telegram) and via email: info@ethiopianscienist.org.
